The difference between the PLN3™ FORMLOK™ profile and HSN3 FORMLOK™ profile is the method of sidelap attachment; the panels themselves are identical in both geometry and material properties. The prefix “PL” designates a PunchLok II® version of the N3 profile, while HSN3 alone indicates the top seam weld or button punch version of the same N3 profile.

Type N3 FORMLOK™ profiles are 3-inch deep composite decks. The standard profile contains 4 ribs and is 32 inches wide with male and female edges, creating an interlocking sidelap when installed. The mechanical embossments on the surface of the deck are proprietary to Verco Decking, Inc. and were strategically designed to increase the shear bond strength between the concrete and steel. N3 FORMLOK™ deck can be used as a composite deck or simply as a form deck.

All FORMLOK™ products are considered composite assemblies (steel deck and concrete act compositely). If the FORMLOK™ designation is not present, the product is a form deck, not a composite deck.
